Well... It appears that I could be back. I have LR2 for the next 30 days but I'm still waiting on the money (and a good enough reason) to invest in it. I just uploaded a deviation... it happens to be my favourite of the 4 films I just got developed... maybe I should have kept it till last... meh, I like it.

I was quite surprised to get a fave before I had even looked at the image. So that's cool. Anyway, I might stick around

Clubs :)

Am I here?

Ok... well the real world runs on and dA hasn't had my attention at all... that might be something to do with the fact that I have had loads of web design to do... and I still need to actually buy Lightroom.

Anyway, let me know what you would like to see me do sometime soon... I will try and get some photography up when I can afford LR...

Prime Lens Feature

Journal Entry: Tue Apr 14, 2009, 11:40 PM
I love using prime lenses, I happen to have quite a few of them (and only one zoom lens). I find that with a prime lens you learn to move your feet more and you find more angles and better shots than you would with a zoom lens. Yes it's more work but there is much reward.

Here's some guys who showed me their prime lens work on the forums.
:iconkla91: Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 Mark II

:iconlimaria: Canon EF-S 60mm 2.8

:icontesener: Nikkor 50mm F/1.8

:iconsllyvain: 50mm 1.8

:iconcharlie-whiteway: nikon 10.5mm fisheye
:thumb70731463:
:iconkatehughes: 100mm 2.8

And then of course some of my stuff :)

Prime lens feature coming up

Journal Entry: Thu Apr 9, 2009, 8:05 AM
Ok... so I'll be putting this in the forums but I wanted to put it here too... I use prime lenses and I wanted to see the results other people got with prime lenses. So... sometime soon. Probably once I get home I will do a feature of the best prime lens shots I can find. You can comment here if you want a feature... tell me what lens you use.

=steelatlas gave me a sub :) *Insert Appreciation here

Have you ever been traveling and you've seen that guy/family at the side of the road... and you think... that can't be a good start to the holiday...

Well... today, that guy was me. My bike (if it was new... worth £800) was on our roof rack and we were traveling along the motorway (3 lanes) in the middle lane... and the long and short of it is... it fell off!

Thank God it didn't hit anybody... but it ended up in the central reservation between the two carraigeways. As you can probably guess... the thud! and the "Nathan's bike's gone!" from my sister put alot of dread in my gut... we managed to pull over about half a mile later and I jumped out of the car... and ran!...

Thanks to the Highways Agency Traffic Officers I have my bike back... and amazingly the frame looks in one piece... looks like I'll have to spend at least £100 on repairs but at least I have my bike.

It's one of those things you never think will happen to you... but it happened to me today.

Ok... so I have been on/been back for 4 days... and I've already got 15 watchers!... These guys are awesome so click them or whatever... I'm just amazed at how much response I'm getting from my work already...

I'm off to Wales today so I may not be on for 10 or so days... but I will be taking some awesome 35mm shots... (Canon A1!)... so fear not... I will be back... and possible won't even appear to leave depending on inet access...

My first 15 watchers:

I just imported into Lightroom 3 films worth of photos from my Zenit 12xp and Canon A1. I was amazed at the much higher quality of photo's I got from that import... maybe its because I think more about each picture when using film or whatever... but my results have a much higher success rate... for example... one film of 36 had 18 good/great exposures and that included weeding out the ones that got ruined cos there is some light leaking in my camera :(

Anyway... Some will be uploaded soon
